The General Services Administration has awarded a potential 15-year lease to BE, 2&10 LLC to relocate the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers‘ Baltimore district headquarters to 2 Hopkins Plaza in the city’s central business district.

The current office at the City Crescent Building at 10 S. Howard St. houses more than 600 USACE employees who will all relocate to the new office by early 2018, GSA said Friday.

“This lease represents a space reduction of approximately 20 percent for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and it supports our economic catalyst initiative,” said Joanna Rosato, regional commissioner of GSA’s Public Buildings Service in the mid-Atlantic region.

Robin Sakin, a Baltimore district realty specialist, added that the team will work to modernize the USACE workspace during the next phase of the project.
