Lt. Gen. Arnold Bunch serves as military deputy for the office of assistant Air Force secretary for acquisition at the Defense Department.
The 32-year Air Force veteran oversees research and development, production, tests and upgrade work on the service branch’s programs.
Prior to his current position, he was commander of the Air Force test center for three years at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
Bunch also served as program executive officer and director for the fighters and bombers directorate, vice commander of the air armament center and commander of the Air Force security assistance center.
He has flown F-16, KC-135, B-52 and other military aircraft with more than 2,500 in flight hours as a command pilot.
Bunch is a recipient of various awards, including the Combat Readiness Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal.
He holds several degrees, a Master of Science degree in national security strategy, National War College; Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering, California State University Fresno; and Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, U.S. Air Force Academy.Â
