gpoTracee Boxley, deputy chief information officer of the U.S. Government Publishing Office, will assume the role of CIO on an acting basis as Chuck Riddle has moved to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

GPO said Thursday that Boxley will oversee information technology policies and standards set for the procurement, implementation and operation of telecommunications and IT platforms across the agency.

She will also manage operating budgets for GPO’s network IT systems in accordance with its program plans and financial guidelines as well as monitor costs and activities related to information resources utilization.

“Tracee’s institutional knowledge of GPO and IT systems makes her a natural asset in overseeing the agency’s IT operations,” said GPO Director Davita Vance-Cooks.

Boxley came to the agency in 2006 as a senior customer advocate for IT and became deputy CIO in 2012.

She previously served as chief of the American housing survey division at the Census Bureau, deputy CIO and chief of the technical services division at the Agriculture Department‘s Food Nutrition Service and director of IT operations for the Office of the Secretary of the Army.
