Lt. Gen. Bruce Crawford, chief information officer of the Army, announced the branch’s need for sustained industry support at the Military Communications Conference.
âWe’re going to need data scientists, weâre going to need computer scientists and computer engineers as fast as you can produce them,â he said to industry leaders during the conference.
The service branch has been working to develop a modernized network over the last 18 months, and is experiencing a hindrance due to lack of information technology experts.
The network would facilitate connectivity of the Army’s other priority technologies that rely on autonomy and sensors, the report noted.
