President Trump has selected Marine Corps Maj. Gen. David Bellon as the next commander of the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve and U.S. Marine Corps Forces North. The Department of Defense said Thursday that it will elevate Bellonâs rank to lieutenant general as he takes on the two new roles. Bellon is the current director of plans for U.S. Southern Command.Â
Prior to that, he led the U.S. Marine Corps Forces South and the Marinesâ Reserve Affairs Division, USNI News reported Thursday. The Senate has yet to confirm his nomination.Â
