During the summit, our speakers, including Ashley, will address the impact technology is making on the intelligence community and the steps that are being taken to stay ahead of the curve.
Ashley became the 21st director of the DIA in October 2017 and supervises 16,500 employees to provide intelligence on foreign military and operating environments. Prior to his appointment, Ashley served as the deputy chief of staff for the U.S. Army, G-2 and the Army Joint Special Operations Command and the U.S. Central Command.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Appalachian State University, a masterâs degree in strategic intelligence from the Defense Intelligence College and a second masterâs degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College.
In addition, Ashley has won numerous awards including the Defense Superior Service Medal (2OLC), the Legion of Merit and a Bronze Star Medal. Lt. Gen. Ashley has also earned the Parachutist Badge, Army aviation crewmember badge, Army staff identification badge and Australian parachutist badge.
