Unisys Names Eric Hutto as President, COO to Lead Global Business Relations; Peter Altabef Quoted

Unisys has appointed Eric Hutto, senior vice president and president of the Enterprise Solutions business, as the company’s president and chief operating officer, the company announced on Monday.

“Eric’s business acumen, hard work and visionary leadership have all been on display since he joined the company in 2015,” said Unisys Chairman and CEO Peter Altabef. “Eric brings passion and a competitive will to win that is contagious among our associates, and he will help drive Unisys to continued success. I look forward to working closely with him in taking our company forward.”

In his new role with Unisys, Hutto will lead the company’s business worldwide and is responsible for sales, client relationships, service delivery and portfolio management. From September 2015 to March 2020, he served as senior vice president and president of Unisys’ Enterprise Solutions. Hutto joined the company in April 2015 and previously served as vice president/general manager, U.S. & Canada, Unisys Enterprise Solutions.

Prior to joining Unisys, Hutto held a variety of senior leadership positions with Dell Inc. between 2006 and 2015. As global vice president/general manager, Infrastructure, Cloud and Consulting for the company, he led a multi-billion-dollar business unit with a focus on infrastructure, consulting and cloud services with responsibility for the growth and profitability globally.

As vice president and general manager of the company, he Established the strategic direction and regional growth plans to develop key markets and improve operations in the Americas Region, inclusive of Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile. Led a team of over 1000 associates to deliver infrastructure and application services to enterprise customers.

Before his tenure at Dell, he served as senior director of The Home Depot where he led the transformation of services business unit, resulting in an increased customer satisfaction, lower operating costs and higher profits. Hutto also supervised change management initiatives for the business unit, establishing strategic direction for the fulfillment of 40 national service programs.

Hutto holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He completed the Executive Leadership Program at Emory University and is a Six Sigma Black Belt. He serves on the boards of directors of the American Heart Association and the Ryan Palmer Foundation.
