Auburn University, Philips Research of North America, Simply Home LLC and St. Ambrose University received nearly $200,000 each to build technologies intended to broaden the veterans’ options for specially adapted housing benefits, the VA said Monday.
âWeâre excited and expect that the technology developed with these grants will augment veteran and servicemembersâ options for living independently in their own homes,â said Curt Coy, the VA’s deputy undersecretary for economic opportunity.
âNew technology will serve veterans who currently live in specially adapted houses and open doors for more Veterans looking to modify their homes to fit their needs,” Coy added.
The SAH benefit program aims to help veterans and service members buy and modify a home.
