Army Fields Cloud-Based System for Ammo Management

1 min read

The U.S. Army started to implement an updated management platform in January to help the military branch’s reserve and active components monitor and control ammunition supply activities.

The Standard Army Ammunition System is a cloud-based platform that has a centralized database and server that work to provide users real-time visibility on ammunition assets across the network, the service branch said Tuesday.

Ricky Daniels, product lead for logistics information systems at the Army, said the cloud-based SAAS system seeks to help cyber professionals monitor individuals on the network and deny access to unauthorized users as well as assist planners and managers to view and manage ammunition assets.

The Army Software Development Center oversees modifications to the system, which is now being used by the Army Europe.

The military branch expects SAAS implementation to conclude in July, the report added.
