KBR has been awarded a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services contract by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for managing Ghasha Concession portfolio of projects, the company reported on Monday. Work is expected to be performed over four years with an optional extension for two more years.
“Our world class ability to manage large-scale, complex projects such as this on time, within budget, but most of all with a strict safety culture…We are confident that the Ghasha Concession Project will significantly boost In-Country Value…achieve the targeted In-Country Value objectives,” said Stuart Bradie, president and CEO of KBR.
KBR will function as the main PMC contractor for the project. The company will be responsible for managing the successful Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors for Packages A & B of the Dalma Gas Development Project, Packages 1-5 of the Hail & Ghasha Development Project, Hail & Ghasha Islands Project and Deep Gas Project.
The Ghasha mega-project has the potential to meet about 20 percent of the UAE’s gas demand by the second half of the decade, provide over 120,000 barrels per day of oil and produce high-value condensates when the project is on stream.
“This award highlights ADNOC’s confidence in KBR’s reputation as the industry leader in the provision of value-added PMC services for similar mega gas-field development projects,” Bradie added.
In addition, KBR announced that the company has been awarded an undisclosed contract by Italmatch Deutschland GmbH for its PLINKE Hydrochloric Acid Purification technologies.
The company will provide technology license, basic and detailed engineering, proprietary equipment and related advisory services to Italmatch to help with the production of phosphorous acid as well as absorption and recovery of hydrochloric acid.
“We are proud to be selected as Italmatch’s technology partner for its new plant and contribute to Italmatch’s continued growth,” said Doug Kelly, KBR’s president of Technology Solutions.
