Bill Zielinski, assistant commissioner of the General Services Administration’s office of information technology category, said GSA hopes to award a contract for the e-commerce platform program by the end of March or soon after that, Federal News Network reported Monday.

He told the House Oversight and Reform Committee’s government operations subpanel during a hearing that GSA is addressing several agency-level protests facing its e-commerce procurement effort.

“Currently, we do have several protests that we are working through that impact or effect when we will be able to issue that award,” Zielinski told the subcommittee. “We have received a number of protests and the three that remain are asking us to reassess their proposals that were submitted.”

Zielinski also responded to lawmakers’ questions about how to ensure agencies using e-commerce platforms comply with the requirements of the AbilityOne program and how the e-commerce initiative can co-exist with the new executive order on such platforms.
